They can be non invasive or invasive. In cases where cancer is found lumpectomy usually is followed by radiation therapy to the breast to reduce the chances of cancer returning. Women with triple negative breast cancer may be more likely to carry a brca mutation especially if they are diagnosed at a young age. Larger tumors tend to indicate later stage breast cancer which may be more difficult.
