Keratoconus Surgery. A transplant procedure in which a circular area of surface eye tissue is removed from a healthy donor cornea and transferred to a recipient. In some people with keratoconus the cornea becomes scarred with advanced disease or wearing contact lenses becomes difficult.

However the changes to the cornea will make it impossible for the eye to focus without eyeglasses or contact lenses. Keratoconus does not make people go blind.
