Uspstf Breast Cancer. 3 4 four trials n 28 193 evaluated tamoxifen in premenopausal and postmenopausal women at increased risk for breast cancer 13 15 52 60 in 1 additional trial of low dose tamoxifen in postmenopausal women not at increased risk for breast cancer 61 the low dose was not found to reduce risk of breast cancer and so was not considered further by the uspstf. The uspstf reviewed evidence from 10 trials that evaluated the effect of risk reducing medications for breast cancer.
In addition to the systematic reviews of the evidence the uspstf commissioned a report from the cisnet breast cancer working group to provide information from comparative decision models on optimal starting and stopping ages and intervals for screening mammography as well as how breast density breast cancer risk and comorbidity level affect the balance of benefit and harms of screening mammography.
